My name is Brian Schatteman (@StoicPhoto311). I am a first-year college student who has just started school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I have shot digital for about 4 years now, and I have recently gotten into film photography. Given the wealth of free time I had at the start of this pandemic, I chose to buy a couple of fully mechanical SLRs (Minolta SR-1 and Zeiss Ikon Contaflex) and learn how to shoot film. The portraits of my high school friends represent the last time I got to see these people whom I had lived alongside at my residential high school, IMSA, before the pandemic caused me to move back home. The accompanying photos of landscapes thereby show how I got reacquainted with my local area before heading off to college. Ideally, while looking at these, you get a sense of both my goal to make one last memory with my best friends and my new appreciation for local conservation sites.
